Our Story: Original Recipes with Deep Roots

Our story began in 1979, when Mark Foreman Sr. crafted his original recipes for boudin, sausage, and hog head cheese in an outdoor kitchen behind his father’s home in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

In the late 1980s, Mark Sr. and Mitzi opened a successful meat market in Cameron, Louisiana. Years later, they sold the business to relocate closer to family and returned to Lake Charles.

For the next six years, Mark made boudin while managing Chardele’s and Mitzi raised their children, Mavy and Mark Jr. When the small grocery store closed, the family packed up and moved to the small town of Dry Creek, Louisiana, where their journey continued.

“Boudin, boudin tastes great! Boudin, boudin, can’t wait!”

On August 31, 1994, Foreman’s Meat Market and Boudin Kitchen was opened. Realizing the growing demand for their boudin and sausage, Mitzi and Mark Sr. opened a wholesale side of the business in 1996.

As our business grew, Mark Sr. began building routes and delivering product all over Southwest Louisiana while Mitzi ran the day to day operations at the market and the wholesale area. Foreman’s Boudin Kitchen has now expanded into a USDA inspected facility that delivers product throughout the gulf states.

Our Journey Through Generations

Foreman’s Meat Market and Boudin Kitchen has grown from a small family operation into a trusted name in Louisiana meats.

The business began with a single goal: help make ends meet by sharing the Foreman family recipes with the local community. Through dedication, hard work, and a passion for traditional flavors, we expanded our product line to include smoked sausage, smoked meats, and wholesale options.

From opening our first meat market to earning our USDA inspection for the wholesale of boudin, sausage, and smoked meats, each achievement has reinforced our promise to deliver the highest standards of flavor and quality.

Today, Foreman’s Meat Market serves our retail customers while Foreman’s Boudin Kitchen serves our wholesale customers. With Mark Jr. and Dustin at the helm, we are thankful to continue a legacy built on family, tradition, and the authentic taste of Louisiana.
